Teen Stress

By: Jocelyn Lara and Kryshna Garcia
Being stress can mess up someone’s life.

People always hear about adults being stressed out about work, money, and many other reasons but teens also get stressed on a daily basis. Teens usually stress about school, about their appearance, peer pressure, and their future. Teen stress is similar to adult stress in terms of the signs and symptoms. But the causes of stress for both are completely different, according to the article on http://TPRonline.org

Stress is something that shouldn’t come at the age it does well not as bad as it does. Mainly, teen stress is about stuff like appearance, peer pressure, problems at home, and just trying to fit in. Now a day’s teen stress is more complicated than teen stress in the past. Once the stress becomes too much to handle the person will start to become sick, shut out from normal activities, become angry and irritable; have feelings of hopelessness, and have eating disorders. Situations like these are what happen when a teen is pressured into being someone they aren’t and doing stuff they normally wouldn’t do. Stress can come and be shown in many different ways.

Jaime Carillo, a freshman at South East High School, said, “Teens stress over ridiculous things like appearance and constantly get them into arguments with parents because they want the new expensive stuff, he said its like school is some type of runway show”. Teens these days act like nothing is important, but looking good and weighing a certain number.

Giovanni Temores ,a freshman at SEHS, said, “Teens under stress can be in danger depending on how they take it and what kind of person they are some may take it really seriously and put themselves or other people in danger.” Being under stress isn’t easy and especially when there are other things going on that can make it much harder to deal with.

Elizabeth Serrano, a freshman at SEHS, said, “The stress is much stronger on upcoming graduates, on young girls who care too much, and just people who care too much of other peoples opinions.” The pressure put on teens today is just not healthy and causes teens to have problems, stress causes eating disorders, bad school grades, and more. Teens should be prepared for any upcoming stress.
